Please write a short Bio about yourself to be used in the show’s program.

This information will be used as a guideline only, as space constraints may keep me from printing it all in the program. 
PLEASE ARRANGE YOUR BIO FROM MOST IMPORTANT TO LEAST IMPORTANT DETAILS IN CASE IT MUST BE EDITED FOR SIZE.

NOTE: We prefer that everyone write their own Bio's. If you need assistance please feel free to contact your show's Producer and they will be happy to assist you.  We are all creative here & have seen Bio's before.

YOU CAN DO IT!!

Bio Guidelines

  • Write in third person as if someone else is talking about you.
  • The actor bio is to be short; and concise to one paragraph with about 5-10 sentences.
  • DO NOT write personal messages or funny remarks, comments, or sayings.
  • Tell the reader about you’re relation to theatre and who you are.
  • Include a few show credits (no more than 5), if you have none, then say this is you’re acting debut.
  • DO NOT list your wishes and aspirations. Focus instead on presenting facts by using short simple words.
  • Mention a non theatre related tidbit or two, for instance a hobby or amusing anecdote. In addition to providing an interesting hook, this information allows the reader to get to know you as a person. Personal details are not required.
  • Write tight: This is a good rule in all your writing, and particularly in your bio. The reader is checking out your bio only for a moment; write only a few lines, or you have lost them.

    For and in consideration of my involvement in the above mentioned Smithfield Little Theatre production I hereby authorize the Smithfield Little Theatre and any of its affiliates, successors or assigns (collectively “SLT”) to photograph, videotape, film or otherwise record me, my voice, my musical or other theatrical performances, or any other activities in which I am engaged at SLT. 

    I irrevocably consent to SLT’s use of my name, likeness, voice, biographical materials, activities, and similar characteristics in any and all publications, educational materials, research, advertising, news media, video, World Wide Web materials, and in any other written, graphic or electronic materials (collectively “Materials”) at any time and for any and all present and/or future purposes and uses as determined by SLT in its discretion.

    I understand and agree that all such Materials, including without limitation, all negatives, positives, prints, film, tapes, DVDs, CDs, and any other media now known or hereafter devised in which the Materials are stored, replayed, replicated or utilized (collectively “Media”) are and shall remain the sole property of SLT.

    I hereby irrevocably assign and transfer to SLT any right, title or interest I may have in such Materials or Media, in any modifications or derivatives thereof, and in any intellectual property rights related thereto. I also waive any right to assert any moral rights against SLT or any third party with respect to the Materials or Media.

    I agree that I am not entitled to any compensation in any form for SLT’s use or disposition of the Materials or Media.

    I hereby release SLT from any and all liability arising from or related to the development, production, distribution, sale, license, use or other disposition of the Materials or Media.
