Time: Friday and Saturday at 8:00 pm. and Sunday at 2:30 pm. Pushed to the boiling point, three female coworkers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. In a hilarious turn of events, Violet, Judy and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy – giving their boss the boot! While Hart remains "otherwise engaged," the women give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down. Hey, a girl can scheme, can't she?

Please come prepared with a 16-32 bar cut(1-3 minutes) of a Contemporary Musical Theatre song OR of a song by Dolly Parton. A pianist and bluetooth speaker will be provided! Please do not sing acapella!

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS

Violet Newstead - (40’s-60’s)(F3-D5) - She has been working at Consolidated for 15 years. Being a SIngle mother has made her stronger than she ever thought she’d be. She can sometimes come across as jaded but is doing everything she can for her son. Must be a great actor with a good singing ability. MUST BE COMFORTABLE KISSING JOE. Doralee Rhodes - (20’s-30’s)(G3-E5) - She is the sweet country girl who just wants to have some friends and she can’t seem to figure out why no one in the office likes her. When she discovers that Hart has been telling everyone she’s sleeping with him everything makes sense. She’s Strong and fights for what she believes. Must be a Phenomenal Actress and Singer with a softer voice and a big belt. Judy Bernley - (30’s)(Ab3-F5) She is the new girl at the office. This is the first job she has had to get due to recently getting divorced by her cheating husband. She is very funny though doesn’t mean to be and eventually finds her strength by the end of the story. Must be a great dynamic Vocalist and Actor! Franklin Hart Jr - (35+)(C3-Gb4) - The Boss of the Office. A misogynistic jerk who cares about nothing more than himself. Must be able to charm the audience while doing horrible things in the same breath. MUST BE COMFORTABLE WITH FLYING. Roz Keith - (30+)(G3-C5) - She is Mr. Hart’s Eyes, Ears, Nose, and Throat. She is in love with Mr. Hart and will do anything to win his praise including snitching on the girls in the office. Must be a hilarious Character Actress with a high belt. Joe - (20’s-30’s)(B2-G4) - One of the newer guys to the office. Quickly develops feelings for Violet and helps the girls in their plot to make the office better. MUST BE COMFORTABLE KISSING VIOLET. Ensemble - Many other named, spoken, and singing roles available including. We will have a total of 16 ensemble members. Including 3 heavily featured dancers! WE HIGHLY ENCOURAGE PEOPLE OF ALL RACES, ETHNICITIES, SIZES, AND ABILITIES to audition for any and all roles! Community Theatre is about building a community, we hope you’ll come be a part of ours! |
