Nothing works on the stage like a well-crafted tale, and OLIVER! is just such a show. Based on the Dickens novel, it will delight everyone with its outstanding musical numbers. Food, Glorious Food, I'd Do Anything, Where is Love?, Consider Yourself, As Long As He Needs Me, Who Will Buy and Reviewing the Situation are musical theatre classics. Dickens' characters are brought to life-perhaps larger than life-with all their facets glowing in this production.

Rated G/PG, some scenes may be intense for younger children.

The SLT Summer Youth Project

"Fun on 42nd Street"

Does your child act, sing, dance or enjoy the technical aspects of performance?  The Smithfield Little Theatre Summer Youth Project is an 8-week theater workshop for youth ages 7-12 and 13-18.  The project includes a full rehearsal schedule and a full weekend (Thursday - Sunday) of public shows.  Workshops include the eight disciplines of theater, forum discussions with theater veterans, and periodic progress performances for parents!...not to mention fun activities, friendship opportunities and a few pizza parties thrown in for good measure!

The 2013 SLT One Act Play Festival

The One-Act Festival will be held August 2 and 3, 2013
The One-Act Festival is not only a competition but also a great platform for original work as there are not many opportunities for playwrights to showcase their talent. This event should appeal to those that want to perform but are afraid to audition, those that want to direct but have not had the opportunity to do so, and those that want to get involved but have not found the right show yet. This is really a great opportunity to be guaranteed a chance to participate.

Smithfield Little Theatre Performing Arts & Education Scholarship Fund

SLT will be awarding a one time $1,000.00 (one thousand dollars) scholarship each year to a high school graduating senior in the Western Tidewater area and Surry, which includes: Isle of Wight, Suffolk, Franklin and Southampton County. In the event an eligible H.S. senior isn’t chosen, a current undergraduate student, that meets all the criteria, will be considered.

SLT Recognized by the Virginia General Assembly

In January of 2013 The General Assembly of Virginia passed joint resolution 544 recognizing Smithfield Little Theatre for 50 years of service to the community.  House delegate Richard L. Morris was at the theatre May 2, 2013 to present a copy of the resolution to Collin Norman, president of the Board of Directors of SLT.

SLT Now Serving Wine

Pouring Wine
SLT is now serving wine by the glass prior to each show and during intermission.  So come early, relax and enjoy a glass of your favorite refreshment before the show.  The wine bar is cash only.


Also available at intermission is water, sodas, coffee, and light snacks.  These items are available for a donation of any amount to our scholarship fund.
You must be 21 or older to purchase alcohol. Proof of age is required.

No food or drink are allowed
in the auditorium.
